Dr Michael Mock joined Northshore Physical Medicine, which was Northside Physical Medicine, in 2004. He brought in huge experience and a keen interest in innovative approaches to managing chronic pain, especially pain stemming from ligamentous origins. His practice focuses on prolotherapy, a regenerative treatment involving an injection filled with proliferates to start healing the tendons and ligaments. Dr Mock also has a particular interest in using ultrasound technology for diagnosing and treating complicated musculoskeletal conditions, and he also specialises in posture correction exercises in patient care to improve musculoskeletal function.
Dr Mock completed his medical training at the University of Sydney in 1978, followed by fellowships with the Australian College of General Practitioners and the Australian College of Physical Medicine. He specialised further in physical medicine by earning a graduate diploma and Master of Medicine in Physical Medicine from the University of Sydney.
His training includes in-depth work with the American Association of Orthopaedic Medicine and the American College of Osteopathic Sclerotherapeutic Pain Management, where he developed his skills in prolotherapy techniques. Dr Mock developed advanced proficiency in ultrasound technology for core training, musculoskeletal assessment, and guiding precision injections. He has completed many courses in Australia and many countries, sharpening his ability to utilise real-time ultrasound for improving patient’s musculoskeletal health.
Dr Mock primarily focuses on dynamic stabilisation exercises aimed at rehabilitating musculoskeletal dysfunctions. This includes core training with real-time ultrasound, correcting breathing dysfunctions, and corrective exercises to improve spine and peripheral stability and muscle activation patterns. He aims to improve patient’s quality of life with his knowledge of musculoskeletal biomechanics to prevent injuries and improve functional fitness for a long time.
